Spaghetti with Homemade Sauce

Packed with goodness, this sauce goes over noodles or tops a pizza with wonderful flavor. This recipe is intended to serve two people with leftovers for later uses.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- 6-8 oz mushrooms washed and sliced
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1 can petite diced or crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp Italian seasonin
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp onion power
- .5 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp unsweetened applesauce optional
- .25 lb penne or other noodles
Instructions

In a medium or large pan sauté minced garlic, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper. Cook on medium for 5 minutes.

Add sliced mushrooms and continue cooking 10-12 minutes.

Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, crushed/diced tomatoes. Mix.

Add Italian Seasoning, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and unsweetened applesauce. Mix.

Simmer until pasta is ready.

Start water boiling for pasta. Cook according to package directions.
Recipe Notes
If you want to serve more than two people spaghetti, then cook half a pound to a pound of noodles.
